Carrying out diversity projects has become an important aspect of the work of adult education in Sweden. By charting ingrained attitudes and prejudices within the associations it is hoped to increase diversity in the members and counteract discrimination.
Sverok is Sweden's biggest youth association with 110 000 members in 1100 associations who are involved in various types of gaming hobbies. Since 2012 the whole organisation has been involved in a wide-reaching diversity project that started with the national association sending out a questionnaire to 88 000 members. The survey was then followed up by interviews that went into the issues in more depth.
