The elearningeuropa.info portal forms a collection of information on the use of multimedia technology and the Internet for education, training and lifelong learning in Europe. The focus is on the use of e-learning processes in schools, although this information is often also applicable to adult education. This range of services, financed by the European Commission, has been offered since 2002 and is overseen in Barcelona by the Spanish firm P.A.U. Education, S.L. Co-ordinator Elina Jokisalo attested to InfoNet that their services have been received with great interest, even though the issues being addressed are often very specific. The portal currently has around 30,000 registered users. A network of authors from across Europe allow for a diverse exchange of information. Elearningeuropa.info offers a bi-monthly newsletter, “eLearning Papers”, which covers specific topics, such as “The New Learning Generation” or “Innovation and Creativity”. Translations of the texts are normally available in 21 languages. Information is also available on tender offers, conferences, new technologies and projects. A platform for the exchange of information is also well used.
