Who we are

The European Civil Society Platform on Lifelong Learning (EUCIS-LLL) is an umbrella association that gathers 33 European organisations active in the field of education and training, coming from all EU Member States and beyond. Currently these networks represent more than 45 000 educational institutions covering all sectors of formal, non-formal and informal learning. Their members reach out to several millions of beneficiaries.

Our vision

EUCIS-LLL is a tool to promote a holistic vision of lifelong learning, from cradle to grave, that is not limited to formal education but integrates nonformal and informal learning. By bringing together actors from all sectors and levels of education and training, EUCIS-LLL embodies lifelong learning and contributes to an increased flexibility and continuity between formal, non-formal and informal learning-systems.

Our objectives

  • Pursuing an active dialogue with European Institutions
  • Enabling exchanges of good practices, experiences and expertise
  • Monitoring and disseminating information on EU policy developments
  • Promoting a more democratic, civic and social Europe

What we doing this year

EUCIS-LLL is for instance this year following up on European elections 2014 and trying to make the best of this important political milestone to highlight education as a priority for the next parliamentary term. We need a vision to ensure our education and training systems deliver better for economic development, social and civic participation, personal fulfilment and well-being.

Our Manifesto “Building together the future of Learning” in various EU languages includes a comprehensive list of principles that MEPs can endorse. More information on our website on how to make MEPs support the Manifesto and how to promote education
